Our Press Club make zines that are themed around something important or interesting to the group. The club agree a theme and then spend a few months working on content to go into each zine through creative writing, poetry, illustration, photography or something creative they have made during the sessions.
The Press Club is perfect for anyone that is interested in arts and crafts. There is no obligation to have what you work on printed in the zine – you can simply turn up and try something out.
If you are considering a career in graphic design, illustration, photography, journalism or writing, this is a great opportunity to practice working to a deadline and along a chosen theme. You might even want to be an Editor for one of our zines!
Where and When?
TThe group meets every other Thursday at The Storey, from 4:45-5:45pm or 6-7pm. The first group is typically better for those aged 11-14, whilst the second group may be better for 15-18 year olds. However, you are welcome to attend whichever group you prefer or whichever works best for you.
How to sign up
We have a maximum capacity in each session, so may have a waiting list. Once you sign up, you will receive an e-mail, either inviting you along or confirming you are on our waiting list.
This club can count towards your Duke of Edinburgh Award under your SKILL section.
