So… you’re interested in becoming an E2M Volunteer? We are looking for volunteers who are available, reliable and committed to helping young people. Could you be the compassionate role model that we’re looking for?
Escape2Make is a Lancaster and Morecambe-based charity that offers 11–18-year-olds opportunities that you can’t find in schools. Through a range of different creative programs and workshops, Escape2Make aims to bring young people away from the struggles of every-day life to make something and meet people.
E2M is incredibly grateful for the volunteering support that is crucial for us to be able to do what we do best. We value our volunteer support and are always looking to increase our number of dependable volunteers.
We want to know your story! Volunteering is as much about you as it is about us.
That’s why we ask that you please forward us a paragraph or two about why you want to join us as a volunteer and what you are hoping to achieve from the experience. You can also include a CV if you like so we can find out more about your interests and experience.
We want to make sure the experience of volunteering is mutually beneficial- and in order to do this, we need to know a bit about yourself.
Benefits include:
Alternatively, if you would like to have a conversation with a member of our team first, that’s also possible! Just e-mail info@escape2make.org and we will organise a phone conversation or meeting.
The more opportunities that we can offer to young people, the better! That’s why we are always growing and diversifying our projects.
We understand that volunteering is a big commitment and we want you to feel secure and valued- so it’s good to communicate about when might be a good/bad time to volunteer.
Our ongoing clubs run constantly throughout the year and take place on weekday evenings. You can consult the ‘What’s On’ page of our website to see more detailed information.
We also aim to have two big projects happen every year. One will happen in the Summer, one in the Winter. So the months of July/August and November/December will usually be filled with lots of volunteering opportunities.
If you are available over either of those periods- there is the opportunity to get involved with the most exciting and adventurous parts of the E2M calendar!
We’re committed to working with you to find the right balance. You can volunteer as much or as little as you like with us- we just ask that you keep an open line of communication with us and reliably turn up to events you’ve told us you’ll turn up to!
Volunteering has increased my confidence in my own abilities, and I have learned more about young people. I look forward to each bike club and craft club session as they are always fun and they make me feel good too.
