Cabaret 2023

Our 2023 Cabaret was a space for all kinds of exciting performances. Various groups performed to an audience of 150 invited guests and 100 young people, who all enjoyed a delicious three-course meal cooked by our cooking groups!

150 special guests were invited to the Cabaret 2023. This included E2M’s trustees, regular facilitators, Founding Friends, funders, as well as high profile guests from the local area. They were all treated to a delicious three-course meal, cooked by our 11-18 year old chefs and entertained with 3 hours of performances and discussions from a collection of our groups who had spent the previous 5-weeks honing their crafts! Workshops leading up to the Cabaret included:

  • Local Cuisine
  • Wild Cooking
  • Stand-Up Comedy
  • Fashion Up-Cycling
  • Mini-Musical
  • Poetry & Songwriting
  • and more!

The Cabaret was a success and we sent an audience home happy, with songs in their head & food in their bellies! It was at the Cabaret 2023 where we also announced our plans for a state of the art youth centre, an Escape2Make Building, which we will achieve one day!

"I found the whole Cabaret an amazing experience from start to finish. My son was totally engaged from the start! On the evening I felt so humble to be part of such a spectacular evening. The poetry made me cry as it poured straight from the young people’s heart! Watching the whole event, magicians, the architect's group, upcycling fashion, everything was a huge inspiration to me as an art teacher working and living in the local community! This must become an institution! Make the ‘Cabaret’ a regular that young people make happen!”
