GREEN FESTIVAL IS MOVING INDOORS!

A free family festival with a focus on sustainability is coming to Morecambe this weekend.

Local youth-led charity Escape2Make’s Green Festival is returning on Saturday – this time to West End Gardens on Morecambe promenade.

The event, which takes place from 11am til 4pm, will see theatrical performances, virtual reality experiences and a giant parade with a recycled monster.

Escape2Make Chief Executive, Jenny Natusch, said: “After the success of our previous Green Festival in Lancaster in 2022, we’re proud to be able to bring the event back – this time in Morecambe.

“150 young people from across the district have worked really hard to put the event together and I know families will have a fantastic day as a result.”

On the run up to the festival, Escape2Make has worked with professional practitioners and artists to offer young people a series of free creative workshops with a green theme.

The workshops covered a range of activities including graphic design, wild cooking and pottery.

The project has been supported by Rathbones, The Areti Trust, You are The Star, the Lancashire Police and Crime Commissioner and the Walney Community Trust. For more information visit escape2make.org
