I grew up in the West Midlands. Most of my social time with school friends was spent wandering around town, as there wasn’t much else to do. Swimming was a huge part of my life—I trained almost every evening and spent many weekends competing, often in back-to-back meets. Other than stressing out over my grades and experiencing the COVID pandemic, I also spent a lot of time reading and enjoyed creative writing
I began studying Philosophy at Lancaster University. Moving away and starting to work gave me a real sense of independence, which I valued, though adjusting to those changes was also challenging at times. Alongside my studies, I started working with Escape2Make, an experience that has been deeply fulfilling and has allowed me to contribute to something meaningful beyond university life.
I’m still working out my next steps, and I’ve realized that’s absolutely okay. Having completed my studies, I’m enjoying the process of finding myself, exploring my passions, and becoming increasingly independent. I’ve also started to see the North West as home. I feel incredibly proud of the person I’ve become—I’ve achieved things I never imagined I was capable of, and I’m excited for the future, my continued growth, and being able to contribute all I know I have to offer.
