As a teenager…
I grew up in the Mediterranean surrounded by the ultramarine sea. The arid, narrative rich landscape around me, saturated in centuries of history, tradition and custom, was chaotic, noisy and full of colour. I loved it! My family were adventurous, so we also travelled deep into the Middle East and I had the chance to visit wondrous ancient places forgotten to time.
After School…
I spent a lot of time with my brother, we were inseparable. We used to hitch our bikes and skateboards up together and gather bottles to sell back to the shops, so they could be exchanged for cakes and ice lollies. We built so many dens, swam every day, were a bit wild and had sword fights. Dressing up, we loved to create characters, singing and performing radio shows recording over my parents’ carefully constructed love song cassettes. It was the 80’s! Fun times!
And Now…
I’m a mixed media artist driven to mainly work with found or reclaimed materials, I absolutely love the thrill of skip diving and get a lot out of the spontaneity in the direction it takes me. I’m so inspired by spending time with other artists of all ages who have creative ideas. I love running workshops exploring and building! I’m particularly interested in playful narrative layouts, the beauty of impromptu geometry, layering, display and functionality. I love to promote arts and use the magic of creativity to bring people together – boosting wellbeing, learning and collaboration.
