I started work at 12 year’s old and managed to achieve 9 CSEs and 2 GCEs before I left school. I loved sport and was captain of netball and hockey teams.
I left school at 16 and was unable to go to university, qualified as a nurse, found the world of NHS management, and made my way to university at 27 year’s old with no A levels and the need to hold down a job. A Post Graduate Diploma and an MBA later and there was no stopping ,me. I became a CEO in the NHS and a Non Executive Director.
A CEO and chair of Abaseen Foundation UK, I charity I founded 30 year’s ago, Vice Chair of Mind in Furness in Barrow in Furness, Chair of Escape2Make, A Deputy Lieutenant in Lancashire, a former High Sheriff of Lancashire, a proud mum and grandma, a mountaineer and happy with my life.
