Trustee
I grew up as an academic child, with a love for learning and all things education. At the age of 13, I joined my school’s drama club just as a support for my friend and, when I was cast as the lead in a Charlie and the Chocolate Factory parody, my creativity sparked! At the age of 15, I co-wrote, produced and performed in a musical based on a local tragedy and fell in love with theatre. The arts has been a massive part of becoming who I am today
I went to college to study Drama, Film and Business before gaining a First Class Honours degree in Theatre and Performance at the University of Central Lancashire. Through my work as a freelance artist and facilitator, I have led community workshops and performed at Social Experiment (Contact Theatre, Manchester) and Enjoy the Show’s Scratch Night (The Ferret, Preston). I have plans to take my work to various locations across the country and afford people the opportunity to see work that reflects themselves at a low cost
I love to travel across the world, exploring arts and culture in different countries. I’m a people person and like making new connections. My arts practice centres around play, creativity and politics, ensuring that each individual has a voice and feels seen, heard and valued. As a trustee for Escape2Make, I want to ensure that the young people of the charity are at the centre of all decisions made and access to creative opportunities is at the heart of the charity’s work
