What is the E2M Fair?

The E2M Fair is a celebration of Escape2Make’s brand new home… our new Centre!

Escape2Make recently received £221,400 from the National Lottery Community Fund to open up a space in the centre of Lancaster and that will be happening in the New Year. To commemorate our grand opening, the E2M Fair will be our first project where we will hold activity primarily out of the new Centre!

During the Fair the Centre will be jam-packed with creative activities for 11s-18s that will all contribute to making the space brighter and better, contributing to a welcoming atmosphere that young people can call home. The young participants on this week of workshops will be making artwork for the walls, upcycling furniture, designing signage and all learning creative skills whilst doing it!

Our Centre Manager, Kriss, says:

“I couldn’t think of a better way to launch this new youth arts space in the centre of town”

EVERYONE is invited. The hub for the event is the new E2M Centre in the town centre, but that’s not where the fun stops! 5-creative drop-in workshops will be taking place around the Lancaster city centre in different locations, open to the public, suitable for all ages and run by our professional artists and the young people who have been honing their crafts for 5-sessions leading up to the event. Pick up a map to begin your creative trail at the E2M Centre and explore all the fun of the fair!

E2M’s Senior Production Manager, Kyle McKenzie, invites you to take a look:

“This will be an opportunity for the community to get to know their new neighbours. Pop in during the E2M Fair to see what we’re all about!”

The E2M Fair is only possible because of you! We have spent the last few months crowdfunding the project. Members of the E2M Team and Trustees have held quizzes, variety nights, improv shows and have taken part in cycles, swims and sponsored runs to raise money for the project. Thanks to the generosity of 111 backers we smashed our target amount and the project will go ahead. We are grateful to everyone who contributed to our crowdfunder, including Lancashire County Council, Mighty House Estates, Lancaster BID and the Nat Merriman Fund.

When is this all happening? Dates will be announced soon! But you can expect some big things to happen in early 2025! Spaces on E2M Fair workshops will become available for free in the New Year!
